Will 2021 be "eSIM"?

With regard to 5G compatible terminals, it was also centered on high-end terminals, but around the end of last year, mid-range 5G compatible products finally began to appear.
Considering the development of the region and the unique services of 5G, many users think that "4G compatible terminals will be enough" for some time.
Under such circumstances, in October last year, the Ministry of General Affairs issued the Action Plan to improve the Fair Competition Environment in the Mobile Market (hereinafter referred to as the Action Plan) and began to recreate the competitive environment in the mobile market. The action plan proposed the pillars of "helping users understand", "creating diverse and attractive services" and "making transfer easier", which listed "promoting eSIM" and attracted people's attention.
ESIM is the abbreviation of "Embedded SIM", which means "embedded SIM". Simply put, it refers to the state in which a device with the same function as the current physical SIM card is combined into the main body of the terminal.
As the Ministry of General Affairs, eSIM is easier to explain than replacing physical SIM cards, and "promote eSIM" is proposed, but the terminal corresponding to eSIM is limited to after iPhone XS and after Pixel4.
However, in addition to IIJmio using eSIM to provide "zero data solution", Rakuten also provides corresponding services for eSIM. When Softbank Corp. released the online dedicated brand "SoftBank on LINE" in December last year, he made clear the policy of introducing eSIM.
KDDI also partnered with Singapore-based Circles Asia last year to set up a new MVNO company that uses eSIM's online specialization and is preparing for it. In addition, the actions of companies related to eSIM are becoming more and more prominent. Perhaps eSIM services will become an expanding "eSIM" in China in 2021.
This time, Ouga Japan (OPPO Japanese legal person's "Oppo Japan" renamed) the sale of "OPPO A73", as the company, will become the first DSDV compatible terminal in China to support eSIM. As described in more detail later, physical SIM cards (NanoSIM) and eSIM are combined and can be used in a dual SIM state.
