Huawei Japan, The Asahi Shimbun, a visiting class for first-year students at Tokyo Metropolitan Musashi High School as an opportunity to work on the SDGs

Guo Yu, General Manager of Public & Industrial Relations Department of Huawei Japan, gave a lecture on how to use ICT (Information and Communication Technology) to achieve the SDGs. He emphasized, "It depends on each and every one of you to use technology to achieve the SDGs and make your life more convenient." Tokyo Metropolitan Musashi High School is characterized by its "Earthology" class, which deals with global issues such as environmental problems and food problems. One student commented, "In order to further advance technology, the amount of power consumed by computers used in research and development is likely to increase. I think it is important to find a way to deal with this problem." In addition to the same school, the visiting classes will be held at the following schools that are actively working on learning about the SDGs (in no particular order). Tokyo Girls' Gakuen High School, Dalton Tokyo Gakuen Middle School, Wayo Kudan Girls' High School, Kouka Gakuen Junior High School and High School  Huawei aims to deliver the benefits of digitization to all people, families and organizations. We are promoting the SDGs principle of "leaving no one behind" by establishing communication networks in various regions, such as the summit of Mount Everest (Qomolangma), the world's highest mountain, tropical jungles, the African continent, and the Arctic Circle. In Japan, we are working on ICT human resource development programs for university students and ICT classes for junior high and high school students. Huawei Japan is a special sponsor of the SDGs Quest Mirai Koshien Metropolitan Tournament (https://sdgs.ac/), where high school students present their ideas and action plans for realizing the SDGs.
