As the name suggests, NPB is a packet "broker". It acquires traffic from switch SPAN ports (mirror ports) and network TAPs, performs optimization processing such as aggregation, copying, load balancing, filtering and deduplication, and passes it on to monitoring and security tools.
In addition to simplifying the network for monitoring and security, the optimization of traffic also reduces the load on the tool side, so the introduction merit is that "it leads to a significant reduction in the number of tools" (Mr. Okubo). .
