Huawei has officially announced the foldable screen smartphone Mate X2.
The previous generation Mate X folded a single flexible display outward, and when folded, the front, back, and hinges were the screen, but the Mate X2 is Samsung's Galaxy Fold / Z Fold 2. It also has a display on the inside and outside.
When you open the smartphone with a 6.45-inch screen, you will see an 8-inch screen that is almost square from the inside. The outer screen is 2700 x 1160 pixels and the inner screen is 2480 x 2200 pixels, both of which use organic EL compatible with 90Hz rewriting.

Under the hood is Android-based EMUI 11.0. The announcement livestream reveals plans for an update to its own HarmonyOS after April.
The body size is 161.8 x 74.6 x 13.6 to 14.7 mm when folded. 161.8 x 145.8 x 4.4-8.2mm when open.
It weighs about 295g. When folded, it is about 1.5 times larger than a large smartphone with a similar screen size, and it is slightly heavier than the Galaxy Z Fold 2 because the screen is slightly wider.
The reason why the thickness is indicated from the thickest part to the thinnest part is that the side with the camera and main board in the open state is thick, and the other side has a thin wedge shape with the thinnest part of 4.4 mm.
When you open it and hold it with your right hand, the center of gravity is close to your hand.
Although it is an expensive niche model, it comes in four colors.
Launched in China on February 25, starting at 17,999 RMB (about 300,000 yen) for the 256GB model. So far, there is no announcement about the overseas version or sales schedule outside of China.
