Monitor video and audio from your home or office from a remote location
Many people may be concerned about how their home looks when they are out, such as "whether the child is safe" or "whether the pet is quiet". You may be worried about whether you put out the stove or closed the door properly. Surveillance cameras play an active role in such situations. That said, you don't have to ask a contractor to do the work or install a voluminous system. All you have to do is buy a network camera for tens of thousands of yen and connect it to your home network.
Therefore, this time, I will introduce how to build a home surveillance camera using the network camera "CS-W70HD" (Planex Communications, actual sales of about 33,000 yen). The CS-W70HD is a network camera that allows you to connect to your home network and check video and audio on your smartphone while you are away from home. It supports not only wired LAN but also Wi-Fi, so it's nice to be able to install it anywhere. Since it uses the cloud, even beginners can easily install it because there is no need for complicated settings to go through the router at home.
The camera part can be panned 180 degrees and tilted 90 degrees, so you can check a wide range even with one installation. In addition, it has a temperature measurement function, a two-way voice function, a night lens and an infrared LED, and is quite full-scale. The smartphone app can be downloaded for free for iPhone, iPad, Android, and Kindle, and there is also an app for Windows.
The CS-W70HD is a stationary type, so you can install it wherever you like. That said, you can point the camera up, but not below the horizontal. If you want to mount the camera in a high position, you can also screw it into the wall and mount it with the camera facing down. In that case, turn on "Video Flip" in the settings and reverse the image.
