Thin and light... I chose "red", which I rarely choose. There are also black and white models
The mobile router I was using until yesterday was EMOBILE's "GP01P". I was thinking of canceling the contract within the last year, but the year passed because there were no products that I wanted to buy next.
I didn't go to Akihabara looking for a mobile router, but I happened to pass by the UQ WiMAX corner and found an extremely thin mobile router that looked like "Chibita Soap".
As a downtown writer, when I see this design... I imagine a small (worn out) soap.
I've seen it in web advertisements, but I was originally not interested in edgy, round products as a hobby. However, when I try to hold this small soap-type mobile router "URoad-Aero" with my palm, I feel a strong attachment to it. When I came to my senses, I was standing at the purchase window with a red sample.
A stylish and clear charging cradle that looks like a soap-like URoad-Aero floating in the air or water was also sold as an option. After completing the URoad-Aero, I felt that it was just a design product that some design-loving person who saw it would have thought of. As a matter of course, it seems to be out of place on my current desk, so I passed it. Japanese industrial design still has a long way to go.
Lighter than specs! "And it's really thin!"
A package that symbolizes the "lightness" that is the image of the product
Equipped with an AC adapter for charging. Shorter charging time than USB charging
When you open the package, you will find an AC adapter for charging, a USB cable, a cleaning cloth, and a manual for settings.
URoad-Aero (left) and GP01P (right) with similar footprints
GP01P weighs 136g. It used to be a lightweight class, but the times have changed a lot.
URoad-Aero, which can do almost the same thing but weighs about half, weighs 71g, which is lighter than the specs
The feature of URoad-Aero is its thinness and lightness. With a kitchen scale that can accurately measure up to 1g, when I first measured the GP01P I used before, it was 136g, while the URoad-Aero weighed only 71g, slightly lighter than the spec value (about 74g). light!
URoad-Aero (above) thinness 8.4mm (spec), which was not understood on the plane, is overwhelming
When I actually measured it with an electronic caliper that can measure up to 0.1mm, it was a little thicker, 8.57mm (^_^)
In terms of size, it is an image of the iPhone 5 with rounded corners.
When you open the thin lid... it looks like there's only a rechargeable battery inside
URoad-Aero's body thickness was about 8.6mm, nearly half that of GP01P (for some reason it was only 0.2mm thicker than the specs). In terms of size, it feels like my iPhone 5 with rounded corners. And when I carefully opened the thinner lid, it was almost like a rechargeable battery inside.
MicroUSB port for USB connection with PC's. Can also be used with normal USB charging
Connector for optional docking station (cradle)
The indentation of the Sleep button creates a soft design effect
There are two terminals on the main unit, a connection terminal for a dedicated cradle and a microUSB port. There is a strap hole right next to the microUSB port. As an operation system switch, there is a power button and WPS setting button on the side, and a sleep button on the front, and as an indicator, there are four LED indicators: power lamp, WiFi lamp, WPS lamp, and WiMAX lamp. However, it does not have any status display mechanism such as a large LCD.
Equipped with four LED indicators from the left: power, WiFi, WPS, and WiMAX. Indicate status by flashing or color
Power button and WPS setting button
I just bought it and haven't used it for a long time, so it's not my experience, but according to the specs, up to 11 clients can be connected simultaneously and 12 hours of continuous communication has been achieved. . Also, by pressing the Sleep button on the front of the main unit, URoad-Aero can be set to sleep (rest) mode, and it seems that it can stand by for about 1000 hours in sleep mode.
WiFi connection is the main communication method with PCs and tablets
If you have a PC or tablet equipped with a USB port, you can drive it while charging it with a USB.
When I actually used it, I rarely operated the main power button on the side of the main unit, and turned the router function on/off only with the Sleep button. Also, when using URoad-Aero with a mobile PC, it is possible to operate while receiving power from the PC's USB port, which is great for PC users.
What is a “strategic impulse buy”?
In the first place, I don't think there is a "strategy" for the behavior of "impulse buying", but in many cases, people are often forced to look for reasons for impulse buying later.
It can sometimes be a logical excuse search for the housemate or a persuasive maneuver for yourself. In this column, I would like to introduce you to the products that I bought without thinking, and I hope that this will help curb your premature actions and sometimes add fuel to the fire.
