ASCII.jp The man who earned 50 million yen with the digital memo "Pomera" appears

Pomera is King Jim's long-selling product. Since the first generation Pomera "DM10" was released in 2008, new products have been introduced about every one to three years, and the latest model "DM200" was released in October 2016.

Pomera is a product in the "digital memo" genre, and is characterized by its simple specifications that specialize in writing letters. ? In Weekly ASCII No. 1113, we approach the meaning and introduce the charm of the Pomera DM200. Below is an excerpt from the magazine.

Yuji Shibamura reveals the appeal of the Pomera DM200!

I think the amount of money I earned from Pomera is easily over 50 million yen. In terms of a single year, 20 million yen in 2015. 2016 is likely to be about the same amount. In terms of writing novels, "Pomera" is the main force.

――How many characters do you write per day?

You write about one novel in a month. For express work, the deadline comes once every three weeks. I had to write about 120,000 characters in three weeks, and I wrote them all in Pomera. When I get overwhelmed, I feel like I have to write two books in eight weeks, so at least 30,000 characters per week, and at least 6,000 characters per day. Since the release of DM100, the fifth game in the series, I've switched from Romaji input to NICOLA (thumb shift layout) when I'm really busy.

--That's pretty amazing.

Well, King Jim is rather amazing. Thank you for providing us with such wonderful hardware. thank you very much! "Thank you very much."

If you have "Pomera", you can turn documents into money

-What is the charm of "Pomera"?

"Pomera" is an item for people like me who have low motivation to work (laughs). No, highly motivated people can work on a normal PC. After all, you can work from your smartphone. But for people like me, when we have a smartphone, we start up Twitter and start playing games. On PC, I somehow start playing FreeCell (laughs). If you are connected to the internet, you can look at the ASCII site.

It takes an hour to do a job that takes 2 minutes. The best way to spend this hour on your work is the "Pomera" as a self-imposed confinement tool! (Laughs) If you open the Pomera, you can only work. "This is exactly what I was looking for!"
